FAQs
Isnβt it cheaper to buy our own?
Short answer - maybe. BUT. Itβs a giant hassle. Linens are heavy and most households donβt have the proper equipment to press and store them. They can be difficult to resell and itβs unlikely youβll use them again. If you compare the time and effort it requires, I almost always recommend that itβs more cost-effective to rent.
So why does it cost so much?
The linens need to be prepped, pressed, hung, wrapped, counted, delivered, set up, and picked up. THEN laundered, treated, repaired, and maybe even replaced. The maintenance needs to cover food and wine stains, candle wax, burn marks, and items that simply go missing. Lots of labor and love go into making sure your linens are perfect!
Where do we look?
Locally, we love Party Mosaic and the 1978 Collection. For shipping, BBJ La Tavola and Something Vintage have a great selection.
Which should we prioritize?
If your budget doesnβt have space for upgraded linens across the board, selecting a more luxe napkin and cocktail table linen will make a big impact. They are the most exposed and will be touched the most by guests, so they will be memorable.
How do you mix and match?
After choosing a color palette, I like to use a rule of three, with a combination like this:
Floral or botanical
Geometric
Textured or solid
This is a great way to blend styles and add visual interest to your space!
